Muffins- a box of them
There were six of them, round and …promising…, nestled in the box. One was chocolate chip, soft dough studded with dark chunks… another was apple and cinnamon, tasting of Christmas, roaring fires and cosy… experiences.… the strawberry..hints of summer, bright red fruit smudged through a vanilla muffin, soft and submissive But it was the blueberry that got me. So simple, so usual, and yet so sensual, it melted in the mouth and muddled the brain. Blueberry, blueberry, blueberry.
Chocolate Leibniz
Let me describe. The chocolate is slightly bitter and the biscuit bit (a ‘butter biscuit’) somewhere between crisp and crunchy. There is more chocolate per Leibniz than there is biscuit- quite thin on top but a thick lip of chocolate running all the way round the biscuit sides. I am eating mine with a cup of tea. But it’s better with a filter coffee. And with other people around.
